Animatic, storyboards, yknow..

Seems we had gotten to everything that needed to be done today. At least we will have enough storyboards and audio queues to have an animatic that carries on its own. I appreciate the help that Olivia, Channing, and Minh had provided for the storyboards. I think it's nice to get that help, even if the results aren't as ideal. It definitely saved me the time to do the storyboards, not saying it's just “my” responsibility, but I would say I'm the most proficient when it comes to story boarding.
I worry about the design of the models for later productions. I had brought up that the models and designs for the characters may need to be revisited, as designing the crowd work we would also need time to model the character's features close to resemble Basil's so that it's concise. I suggested maybe simplifying the look more and maybe making it more cartoon, but Olivia didn't seem to be on board for the idea. She preferred to stick to what we had, and Channing agreed with her. I think good points are made about the modeling assets like reusing old bases that we had done for past projects as it would save on time; but, I still think it's a good idea to at least have concepts for them now.
I appreciate Olivia's feedback and honesty, but I also feel that she doesn't think things through. I admit, I do overanalyze: my compulsive need to overthink everything has me questioning my teammates' feedback. Not because I don't trust her or my teammates, but because the last production pass made me realize that the things I had brought up to concern did seem to bite us back in the end. Concerns that I had brought on earlier, like the format of the presentation, the theme, the north star. All things I had questioned my teammates but was discouraged on because “it was something we could figure out later.”
I will say that I think this semester is challenging me, and really making me question my own thoughts. I think I'm going to continue forward, still working on the crowd work designs, and adjust them to fit Basil more. I think it's good to take my teammates' feedback, sometimes it can feel so personal, though. I try to remind myself that it's not. I just hope I'm not the only one modeling next semester.
